Credit Consultant | Director of Credit North America | Credit Manager North America |
-
Apr 2006 - Apr 2023
Credit Consultant to the company for 10 months with a move to Vermont in June of 2022. As on-site North America Credit Manager and later Director of Credit I have been deeply committed to supporting sales growth through: ▶ Financial analysis of customer credit strategies ▶ Management of large customers’ creditworthiness ▶ Establishment of terms that ensure timely repayment. Working across the US and Canada markets enabled me to contribute substantively to our sales teams’ larger revenue goals. This was especially true during the consolidation and transformation of the North America credit function into a single high-performing team. Also important to this role was strategic management of risk, with both domestic and international customers. I led a turnaround of our debt collections process, through which we elevated our financial position while more deeply engaging with ideal customers capable of adhering to stricter credit terms, better credit qualifications, and more favorable pricing overall. My work on our international business (#1 for ski product market share in Canada) and newly acquired bike business earned me a promotion to Director of Credit. One particularly exciting leadership experience was the integration of Felt Bicycles into our portfolio of credit management strategies. My contribution to credit management practices and policies enabled us to shape our ideal customer profile, converting our sales teams’ outreaches into purchasing customers able to manage our credit terms. Simultaneously, I worked with Felt’s prior customers to revamp our receivables ratios, aligning it to my overall credit management strategy that continued to strengthen the business. Show less

Credit Manager
-
Aug 2001 - Apr 2005
I directed credit management, accounts receivable, and billing operations for this winter sports company. During this time, I oversaw credit management for the Atlas brand, which earned me a promotion to credit manager for Tubbs (parent company). Key to my future success was broadening critical leadership capabilities through working with our CFO and controller and developing a successful team culture. I focused not solely on the financial operations of credit management; in fact, I was keen to establish stringent yet creative processes to help our sales team accomplish double-digit revenue goals by prequalifying customers for creditworthiness. Overall, I strove to support our corporate brand, especially as the industry shifted into new materials, leading to new markets and elevated revenues. On a global level, I facilitated international sales by implementing letters of credit and export insurance. Finally, one of my key successes involved leading a cross-functional team to minimize remaining receivables in advance of a corporate exit to new owners K2 in 2005. Show less

Credit Analyst
-
Apr 1995 - Jul 2001
Supporting our company’s credit management strategies, I contributed to the development of important sales terms, bolstering our strategies with carefully developed credit risk assessments, both in the US and internationally in Canada. I managed Canadian credit portfolio for the last two years helping to deliver rapid sales growth for this market. Along with my position, I was proud to have been named to manage credit for our subsidiary, RED Corporation, working on distribution to resellers. I pioneered RED Corporation's first credit department, including selecting and setting up the infrastructure and operations. Because RED sold accessories that complemented Burton’s core offerings, we accelerated our revenues through collaborating with our sales teams to attract and retain creditworthy customers. Prior roles: Credit Analyst, H.P. Hood Company, Burlington, VT. At the time I was a Credit Analyst, Hood was the largest dairy food distributor in New England. Loan Grantor and Financial Coordinator positions with companies including First Vermont Bank (Bennington, VT) and Bombardier Credit, Inc. (Burlington, VT). Show less
