  I am a Vancouver-born artist. As long as I can remember I have been consumed by art. The need to express myself creatively is who I am as a person. Using acrylic as my medium has given me the ability to translate this energy onto the canvas. I have travelled extensively and these experiences have influenced much of my work. I have participated in many group shows, had gallery representation and am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. I am a member of the North Vancouver Arts Council where I participate in the art rental program and my work can be seen in their Cityscape Community Art Space Gallery in North Vancouver.   I was a member of this West Side community art group for 5 years. Each year we would volunteer our time to put on the 3 day event. I was involved in numerous committees either heading them or being a member of a particular committee. I was head of the publicity committee which meant coordinating the timing of press releases, ads, the catalogue and brochure and developing media packages and working closely with the Publicity Mavens hired by the group.   For seven years I volunteered to work with a goup of children ages 4-16 with Type 1 Diabeties. Under my artistic direction the children created an art piece that was auctioned at the JDRF Rocking for Research Gala Fundraiser. Government to participate in the Toronto Ready to Wear Show in 1989 and the International Women's Wear Show in Montreal in 1990. In the 25th Anniversary Issue of the Vancouver Magazine "Our City's Honour Roll" "People Who Made a Difference", I was listed as "Fashion Designer" Dana Cleland. For 5 years I was on the Board of Directors for the Fashion Arts Advisory Committee at Vancouver Community College. Show less
