Writing Consultant
-
Aug 2015 - Present
Consulting and tutoring of student clients at all levels up through Post-Doctoral and faculty to improve writing skills. I also function as a Writing Associate, where I am embedded as a tutor into a class where there is a high volume of writing expected from the students. In that position I work as both a tutor and a liaison between the students and the instructor to clarify assignments and support the writing development of the students. During this process I have been developing a set of resources that will allow International Students to more effectively improve their academic writing skills.

My partners and I design and craft stuffed animals, quilts and other items by upcycling luxury fiber sweaters. I oversee materials acquisition and do design work for special orders as well as edit and compose ads and other relevant written copy for the company. Please see https://www.etsy.com/ThreeMommiesMadeIt and/or https://www.facebook.com/MamasMadeIt for our current selection. We also do special orders and designs on an individual basis.

Sole Proprietor

Mar 2004 - Jul 2012
Sourced and marketed vintage and contemporary women's clothing, accessories and various vintage collectibles. Range of merchandise included antique and vintage dolls, jewelry, clothes and shoes as well as other accessories. I researched designers and individual pieces to create accurate descriptions, pricing and marketing pitches for the merchandise on internet based sales platforms. Women and Men's cashmere sweaters became a primary merchandise type that later led into another business enterprise. All ads were photographed, composed and edited by me personally for each item sold. I also provided all customer contact, order fulfillment and customer service for sales.
