Dan is a highly capable and diligent designer. While working with him on the front end of Medieval 2 and London 2012 Olympics official video game I found him to be available for opinion and critiquing when it came to the layout of the menu systems. He is always full of great ideas and enthusiasm, and exhibits a proactive approach to problem solving. Due to his experience in game journalism, he has an appreciation for the unique demands that a successful front end entails, and this showed though in his comprehensive organisation and design of an intelligent menu flow, which is not only intuitive and functional, but also enjoyable to use. Dan has great communication skills, being approachable and friendly, and exhibits the kind of love of games and game design that makes working in the industry so unique and enjoyable. He would be a great addition to any design team.

At Sega Studios (CA), Dan was full of great ideas and drew on his wealth of knowledge and experience to greatly improve the user experience. Over the past two years my experience working with Dan has been overwhelmingly positive. Dan did an exceptional job designing the game flow and metagame structure for London 2012. He communicated very well with the developers to help converse his ideas. This improved our understanding of the game design and assisted us whilst we implemented design specifications. He had a good understanding of development capabilities and constraints and was always willing to iterate on and improve his design without sacrificing any project goals. Always friendly and approachable, I enjoyed working with Dan and can thoroughly recommend him for any future positions.
