I was involved in a variety of retail energy policy projects, with a specific focus on consumer vulnerability. In a number of projects I used my research and critical analytical skills to weigh up the costs and benefits of policy proposals, analysing trends to make tough decisions at pace. These projects include Consumer Vulnerability Strategy 2025, prepayment meter self-disconnection and introducing a voluntary energy supplier agreement to support customers during the pandemic.

This role demanded creativity and innovation coupled to strict, testing deadlines. I was responsible for writing up-to-the-minute, ever-changing news stories The role also enabled me to develop my editorial skills whilst proving my ability as a natural, engaging writer, finessing my style based on the style and tone that audiences were familiar with.
