Dan is the ultimate in professionalism. His expertise and knowledge were immediately apparent when he first started with Ripple, and working with Dan has always been a pleasure. No matter the reason for our interactions – from explaining scientific applications to personnel decisions – he was prepared to work, and also ready to listen. He is thorough, considerate, and humble. Do I recommend Dan? Absolutely and without reservation. Would I work with him again? In a heartbeat.

Not only have I had the privilege and opportunity of working with Dan on several technical projects to develop vitally needed implants during the past 7 years, but I also reported directly to Dan during some of that time. His ability and knowledge in the fields of anatomy, physiology, and histology and how the body is affected and affects materials during neurostimulation has been crucial in guiding the Foundation's research and development. Beyond mere education, some rare individuals exercise real leadership and mentorship that makes a fundamental difference in the people and the organizations they serve. Dan is a man of undeviating character and principle and is steadfastly loyal to all commitments, whether it is a cause or a company. In one of his roles as a former paramedic and a First Aid trainer, he has volunteered many hundreds of hours to train scores of people in CPR, First Aid, First Responder, or Healthcare Provider classes at no compensation to himself. He is a valuable and valued asset for the Alfred Mann Foundation and we are all better able to do our jobs through his unique contributions to our projects here.

Designed and performed experimental protocols including in vitro electrochemical studies of stimulating electrodes, in vivo studies of tissue damage due to electrical stimulation, and computer simulation and analysis in electrical stimulation of excitable tissue. During this period I created a bioelectrochemistry laboratory.
