The location is ideal for big game hunting as it borders on the Bay du Nord wilderness reserve in Moose Management Area 27 in central Newfoundland. The Middle Ridge Lodge has been in operation since 1995 and has enjoyed a high big game hunting success rate over the past 28 years. The Lodge is only accessible by air during the hunting season.
