We had a good run. Firmament created brands, campaigns, websites, videos and print collateral for clients in entertainment, SaaS and nonprofit. What I'm most proud of: everyone who worked for me had talent to burn, but they left with more skills, confidence and earning potential than they had when they started. Clients: Intuit, Tangible UX, Pilgrim Media Group, Studio 8, Independent Films, Kidspiration.TV, AttheCrossroads.org We had a good run. • Content Strategist and Creative Director
      • Jun 2008 - Jul 2015

Developed a uniform voice and brand for a grassroots network of diverse humanitarian initiatives spanning 40+ countries. Over time, my role grew into global creative director and lead content strategist, managing multidisciplinary teams producing websites, videos, motion graphics, online campaigns, and printed media.

    • UX Writer and Product Owner
      • Jun 2004 - Jun 2008

Led the digital transformation of the front and back office of a major retreat center serving 10,000+ overnight visitors annually. The heart of this transformation was a custom-build property management software. My role was to gather user requirements based on interviews and direct observation, build consensus among stakeholders and prioritize features for development, write if-then branch logic, write microcopy for interactive elements of the experience, and design and lead software test plans. • UX Writer and Information Architect
      • Jun 2001 - Jun 2004

Back then I think I said I "wrote for a website." But Interactive Health Systems, led by Dr. Roger Gould (former Head of Community Psychiatry and Outpatient Psychiatry at UCLA), was ahead of its time, developing web-based software in general, and a self-guided digital therapeutic experience in particular. My role was to copy edit Dr. Gould's therapeutic content, write microcopy for interactive elements of the experience, write if-then branch logic for development based on Dr. Gould's therapeutic framework, and to design and lead software test plans. I also wrote copy for the marketing website; in tandem with my colleague who led a visual redesign, our work resulted in 10x online sales within 6 months of the release of the new website. Show less
