Experience

    • Budget Analyst
      • Nov 2006 - Present

I am serving as the Deputy Budget Director assisting the Chief Administrative Judge of the NYC Courts in advising 26 NYC court units in their budget preparation and implementation. These responsibilities include serving as the contact person between the Courts, Division of Financial Management, and Judge Fisher's office. In this role I monitor and assist the Courts with their quarterly Budget Management Plans.I also prepare and present the DCAJ NYC Courts Review Agency Budget for Review by Judge Fisher and her chief of staff. After a comprehensive review of the court agency's requests this request is submitted to DFM. I also receive the court's monthly revenue reports and prior to sending them to OSC I work with DFM to confirm that they are correct. This includes entering all non-state revenue into the appropriate system and sending the reconciled revenue checks to the NY State Treasury and Revenue Unit.I also work closely with the Legal Counsel's Office, Grants Unit and the OCA Contract Procurement Unit on the approval of new contracts and renewals. I have had the opportunity to attend OSC training sessions on this topic and have learned to expedite this process. I recently worked with various departments on two new bids for scanning and records storage. In my role as a contracts officer I monitor payments and audit vouchers to confirm that the proper documentation is included and that the payments made adhere to the original budget. As the Deputy Budget Director I am also responsible for supervising the work of the data entry staff as well as the audit staff. I review vacation requests to ensure that the needs of our business unit are met prior to approving the request. I also perform employee reviews in order to receive input on how to improve the overall work environment and production of the unit.

At State Street, I operated as a liaison between fund groups, transfer agents and DTCC in order to expedite receipt of income payments, re-registrations, and other transactions necessitated by the situation at hand. I also assisted in the global review of transfer area’s processes in order to improve the bank’s overall productivity as well as training new employees in daily job activities and assisted in their overall acclimation to State Street. My responsibilities also included performing daily recons to confirm that there were no discrepancies between our physical holdings and accounting systems. This position required a high level of organization and an ability to prioritize tasks.
