  The Computer Kitchen is a 501(c)3 that promotes the reuse of old and unwanted technology. We refurbish old and unused laptops & desktops and give working computers to local schools, non-profits and community groups. Obsolete or unusable computers are recycled locally using environmentally responsible methods. As co-director I served on the board, worked directly with volunteers by training, scheduling and coaching. Directly involved in refurbishing hundreds of computers, using open-source tools to diagnose and upgrade laptops and desktops ranging from 1 to 10 years old. Experience working with older systems in various states of disrepair to run modern Linux & Windows distributions, physically repairing damaged hardware and setting up networks and small office setups for recipients.
