Haibin Middle School (Through Sea Dragon): February 2020 - July 2020 - English Teacher As the final part of my time working in China, I expanded my experience to include teaching Grade 8 students at Haibin Middle School. This position was quite different to my previous positions teaching as there were greater requirements expected of me as a teacher. A higher understanding of the English language was necessary, as well as adapting my teaching methods to target a teenage audience and give them the understanding necessary to pass their end-of-year exams. The results of these tests were largely positive and the school, students and fellow teachers seemed pleased with my teaching. Binhai Primary School (Through Sea Dragon): September 2019 - January 2020 - Oral English Teacher The position at Binhai Primary School was very similar to my previous position at Dongfang Primary School. The key duties are essentially the same, however, I was teaching a lower age range. My efforts were recognised by my company who asked me to present a training session to the other primary school teachers in my district (Around 40). Show less

My position as an Oral English Teacher at Dongfang Primary School (through Haida) was an incredibly rewarding experience. In a short amount of time, I achieved both professional and personal goals that helped me to develop my skills in this field. Day-to-day duties included lesson planning and creating the resources necessary to effectively teach the subject for the next lesson. They also include teaching 40-minute lessons to a class of 50 children aged between 9 and 12 years old depending on their grade. During my time as a teacher, I have been interviewed for a regional newspaper on being a foreign teacher in China, the challenges it faces and my teaching methods. I was also selected out of hundreds of teachers in the Bao’an region of Shenzhen to give an open lesson to an audience of 200+ primary school foreign and Chinese teachers. I am able to effectively control a class and direct them to complete the objective for that lesson. Show less

Although my time at Portcullis Electric Gates was brief, the responsibilities entrusted to me and unfortunate situations inside the company forced me to adapt to a new role and environment in a very short space of time. With only one day of training, I took on the responsibility of organising the company engineers to attend jobs based on urgency and standard customer maintenance rotation. Alongside this, I was responsible for other office-based duties, including: customer support, parts and gate purchasing and job bookings. The office was comprised of a small team and during December 2017, through injury and annual leave, the office numbers reduced to just myself, which meant I was given additional duties and had to manage the running of the company. One of my additional roles was to train my successor, who was to become the office manager and become responsible for the company on a day to day basis. Show less

During my time at Brand Events, I sold high-cost event spaces to companies looking to attend CarFest, one of the UK’s fastest-selling festivals. Whilst sales were the main objectives of the role, other tasks included administrative responsibilities. For example, being the main point of contact for exhibitor queries and designating company positions as to not cause a conflict of interest on-site and to offer the best visitor response. Whilst on-site at the festival, I was a point of contact for the general public and the exhibitors alike. Show less

Screening Executive. Having worked on several accounts during my time at Security Watchdog, I believe I have experienced the company enough to be knowledgeable about key areas of the business. I understand how to build a relationship with the clients and ensure that I can uphold the company’s values and strive every day to maintain the company’s famous slogan “Delight Through Excellence”. By joining Security Watchdog, I learned a lot about what it means to be part of a team; like how to keep people motivated, being an approachable person, and offering support to those that need it, not just inside work, but outside too. Some situations have required the ability to put personal feelings aside and approach them with a more professional state-of-mind in order to achieve the results necessary for the client. Show less
