Marketing and Communications Officer

In my role I managed all internal and external communications for Cheshire FA. I managed a team of interns to deliver marketing across all areas of the business. Whilst overseeing all social media channels, the website and an app that we developed. I implemented a monthly online newsletter that developed into a quarterly e-magazine, I coordinated 3 successful award evenings as well as producing the first marketing package offer for grassroots clubs and leagues in the country. I created brand guidelines for all aspects of communication across the business and I implemented the use of a social media engine to quality check any communication across social media. I managed a budget, researched marketing methods, analysed data, tracked campaigns and planned all marketing campaigns for the business. Since beginning the role Cheshire FA’s social media followers increased by over 5,000 people, whilst the website saw an increase in traffic, and the customer perception of the County FA improved. As part of my role I developed the website through support from The FA, and I sat on a national working group supporting other county FA’s with their websites including training. I also created a balance scorecard for the company that I regularly updated and analysed the data trends.

Regulations & Registrations Support Officer

I was the county lead on the new player registration system designed by the FA. I worked closely with all Cheshire Leagues and Clubs to ensure that everybody had the most out of the system. Through this I helped bring in over 10,000 members that we didn’t currently have on our database. I was also an officer in compliance and regulations, dealing with discipline cases, league sanctioning (in which I was the lead) and the affiliation process.I worked with the football development team to ensure that all data was correct across the county. I worked closely with the county welfare officer to ensure that all coaches and clubs complied with FA Safeguarding measures.I was trained on The FA’s Whole Game CRM System, and with that I developed a training programme for clubs and leagues to learn how to use their version - the Whole Game Portal. I was also trained to use the County Administration System, the FA’s Coach education system - Participant and a number of other software packages.

Football Facilities Officer

I was a facilities officer for the main HQ of the Cheshire FA. I also conducted marketing and communications activities. I worked on ideas to improve the centre and helped to improve engagement with the Cheshire FA. I conducted filming and photography, whilst also making promotional videos for the Cheshire FA.I also worked on a school development programme to develop the Cheshire FA's engagement with schools in the local area.Finally as part of my role I was an admin assistant for office roles. I worked within compliance and regulations whilst also working in football development and coach education.

Users would also be able to control their database through the website (calendar, fitxtures, player/client details/analysis and more). I was in charge of the companies marketing aspects. I worked on new and innovative marketing methods and developed the existing marketing elements to enhance the companies profile and brand image. I designed an in depth marketing strategy that complied with the marketing budget that was outlined. I worked in social media marketing, email and telephone marketing, generic marketing methods amongst other new ideas. I also conducted an in depth market analysis in order to construct an in depth marketing plan and to outline potential new expansion plans for GPS. My role also consisted of site visits around the country in which I created promotional ideas to enhance the profile of GPS further. I also worked in sales to bring in new contracts and I dealt with the companies qualifications.I used construction software Glenigan to track projects and to receive project updates amongst many other forms of software. I also designed a brand new website for the company amongst all other promotional features such as a portfolio, brochures and business cards.

I worked alongside the Community Programme to promote the clubs events such as children’s parties and soccer camps. I attended the events and I worked as a photographer. I then designed advertisements of these events. I worked on a charity 10KM run the club organised and on a Reds vs Blues event that was held in June. I also designed 4 promotional videos for the club to use to increase interest in programmes run. The main aim I was given from the club was to increase social media followers and increase interest in the club through this method. Since I joined the club the Facebook page increased in followers by more 150 people, and posts that I made have been the most viewed since the club started the page. I also coached multi-sport and football sessions to children in a variety of schools, I ran a basketball and table tennis session on a Saturday morning. Through this opportunity with the club I have volunteered 88 hours.
