Working as an Applications Engineer in the Process Engineering Division, providing industrial process heating equipment and solutions, covered a broad range of tasks. I was often relied upon to be the first point of contact for technical advice, determining and reviewing the client’s requirements including written specifications. One of my main roles was to generate technically and commercially attractive quotations. For any given project, I found that there could be several different products that I could of offered a client as a solution to meet their requirements. However, deciphering the information given, establishing the client’s key objectives out of the project, along with being an excellent communicator is the difference between offering just any product from a personalised solution tailored to that client specifically. I believe this helped to build strong client-based relationships and reoccurring orders from it. Some of the large products that I sized, designed and quoted on a daily basis includes: Control & Manually Operated Valves, Pumps, Gas Boosters, Pressure Gauges and Flow Meters, in addition to the major equipment such as Steam Generators, Firetube Steam Boilers, Thermal Fluid and Process Air Heaters. Understanding the compromise between pressure drop, viscosity, density, specific heat capacity, thermal conductivity, flow/return temperatures, flow rates (heat duty), and the client’s restrictions/requirements are what I investigated and assessed with each project on a daily basis. In addition to the tasks mentioned above, this role also involved: • Completing project engineering checks including the preparation of commissioning specifications • Updating and correcting P+ID’s to improve processes • Providing before and after post sales support to the company’s internal contract engineers and external sales engineers • To update and manage the local Process Engineering Division documents using Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Working in the cremation and incineration industry for Facultatieve Technologies Ltd., has been both an exciting and humbling experience. Losing a person close to you is a very tragic process and means that thorough attention must be taken at each stage to ensure that the cremation process is completed in the most respectful and efficient way possible. The daily duties of this role can be categorised into three main sections: • Design work With this being the core of his work, he is a proficient user of Microsoft Excel, AutoCad, PHE designing software, just to name a few. This is in order to ensure that the design work for ventilation schemes, P+ID’s, ducts/pipes, fans/pumps, heat exchangers, amongst others are completed to a high standard. • To issue specifications for ongoing projects After the design work is complete, he often has to issue these documents to the relative project manager, upon which contractors and suppliers follow and work to. Therefore, there is a great amount of responsibility that has been given to Dami to ensure that all of the major equipment are correctly calculated and sized. • To offer expertise and advice on technical queries that customers and/or colleagues may have, as well as provide solutions Even though this may be an overshadowed role at face value, in no way is it less important than the previous ones mentioned. It truly showcases his in-depth knowledge on the process as well as his excellent problem solving skills in order to offer good advice on behalf of the company.
