      Responsible for the management and development of the Optum Commissioning Directorate, providing guidance and expertise to all Optum commissioning, contracting and QIPP programmes nationally. The contract was renewed for a further three-five years in 2014. • Conception and implementation of the Optum five ‘best practice’ tenets to commissioning; including training and development of an experienced contracting team, challenging monitoring information to realise efficiencies, providing accurate forecasting that accounted for risk and seasonal variation, reporting granular information down to CCG and practice level on London activity and agreeing and health economy incentivised partnership. • Management of £200m acute and non-acute (mental health and community contracts) portfolio for a single CCG encompassing all host commissioner arrangements. • Delivering ‘quick win’ and pathway QIPP opportunities for NHS England, benchmarking and challenging price variation, practice based quality, activity and finance packs for CCGs and acute contracting solutions for host commissioners. • Feasibility studies across CCGs (inclusive of data reviews, reviews of best evidence, social marketing practice and stakeholder engagement strategies) into long term condition initiatives, single points of access for patients and professionals and urgent care centres.
