I am involved in the Connswater Regeneration Program where QPL are tasked with installing piles along the Connswater River to enable Farrans to construct a retaining wall to prevent flooding and create a new cycle & footpath through East Belfast. My daily tasks include stock managing, general site management and the liaison between QPL and Connswater Community Greenway JV parties with regards to scheduling, progress or any areas of concern. Daily duties include the maintenance of the course and associated facilities within the complex.I have mapped the racecourse onto autocad to accommodate for accurate setting out of race day track and for accurate design of proposed future expansion plans. Also I have conducted setting out, level marking and cut & fill exercises for ongoing alterations to the current track layout. the racecourse is currently carrying out work to extend the width of the track and move the existing ambulance track that runs alongside. I am tasked with keeping accurate and up to date records, in accordance with Dpk racecourse & HRI (Horse Racing Ireland) standards and to ensure health & safety is practised and maintained at all times.

I have worked for Dawson Wam on two occasions. I firstly undertook my placement year from June 2011 to September 2012 & I then worked for DW between my 4th year (Bachelor's Degree) and entering my final year (Master's Degree) from June 2013 to October 2013.As part of the sandwich course, I undertook a placement year with Dawson Wam. I worked on 3 different sites, within the Civil Engineering sector, acting as site engineer under the guidance of a site agent. I was able to practise and hone my setting out, planning, communicating, and record keeping skills which are essential to ensure a project goes according to schedule. I worked on the Sunnyside Street WwTW, Belfast Sewers Project (Falls Road) and Newcastle WwTW Extension and Integration.Before entering my final year at university I undertook a summer placement with Dawson Wam, working in the Piling sector. I was acting site agent for the Ulster Hospital Phase 1 Piling, where Dawson Wam were subcontracted by Graham-Bam. I was tasked with the setting out of the piles (contig wall / load bearing / axial piles), stock ordering / counting, general site management and the liaison between Dawson Wam and Graham-Bam with regards to scheduling, progress or any areas of concern.
