Dallas's technical skills were indispensable to us as he helped with build tasks, optimization, and many more important things that kept the project afloat.

Virginia Sanders

I asked Dallas to make things disappear, and he did so. Then I asked whether he could make something glow. He could. Determined to put him to the test, at last I asked him to make me a storm so grand and magnificent and fearsome that it would make all who witnessed it tremble in awe. And he gave me my storm, and it was a thing of beauty. I have concluded that Dallas is a wizard -- a special effects wizard. Dallas is a fantastic technical artist. He loves what he does and seemed to truly enjoy every challenge the project managers allowed me to throw at him. The best way to add VFX magic to any project would be to have Dallas Glowka on the team!

The Learning Interactive Visualization Experience (LIVE) Lab is a research lab at Texas A&M that employs several A&M students from various majors to design, build, and develop high-quality educational video games in an environment which closely mimics a professional game studio. At the time, it also doubled as a classroom / open lab for Visualization students. Sole technical artist in the lab for 2 large projects and was also responsible for all of the lab's hardware and software, both of which I had little prior knowledge. Accomplishments: -Migrated all of the labs repositories (6 in total) from Perforce into Plastic SCM, set up security privileges -Worked closely with engineering, art, and design leads to establish and modify pipelines for different projects -Worked with art teams regarding asset and projects with technical difficulties for students and faculty, usually in Maya but in several other 3D and surfacing applications as well -Tutored and debugged C++ and Python code for students in Visualization programming classes -Prototyped environmental FX in Unity -Interviewed, hired and trained two tech artists to take over my responsibilities when recruited to join Triseum in May of 2016 Show less

The Bush School of Government and Public Service at A&M is renowned for it's internationally acclaimed faculty and for it's Public Service and International Affairs graduate programs. Earned a deep technical understanding of computing and the relationship between modern hardware and software and obtained fundamental troubleshooting abilities that naturally steered me towards a focus in tech art. Problem solved under pressure almost daily, as often the issues dealt with were holding up a lecture or video conference, sometimes in front of 50+ audience members. Achievements: -Diagnosed hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac -Troubleshot a variety of unfamiliar software -Assisted in the maintenance of over 200 staff and lab computers -Wrote and deployed powershell scripts to facilitate school-wide changes -Helped deploy computers and software for faculty and labs -Upkept detailed documentation of currently deployed machines, software versions, and other hardware -Facilitated large video conferences and lectures Show less
