Dale was my boss at SIMmersion LLC. I worked for Dale from January 2010 through January 2012. Dale is a great guy; open to innovation and creative insight, eager to understand how new technology works, enthusiastic about implementing new ideas, a pleasure to work for. The product Dale has pioneered is unparalleled in the world of soft-skills simulation. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at SIMmersion and will remember my days there as one of the best jobs I ever had.

Dr. Olsen is president and CEO of SIMmersion. In the last year, his company has experienced rapid growth for many reasons, including the companies reputation as an outstanding provider of unique products. In addition, research by Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin has shown that SIMmersion simulations build skills that change behavior and people’s lives. Government sponsors include the FBI, U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Forces Command, the intelligence community, and various institutes at the National Institutes of Health. Dale joined The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and was made responsible for developing techniques for evaluating submarine launched missiles. He developed a series of methodologies, implemented them in software, and successfully applied them. In 1989, he developed an algorithm for the automatic detection of epileptic seizures using EEG data. This research lead to the development of algorithms for evaluating polygraph data and to a software system called PolyScore™ for the analysis of that data. The resulting system proved more accurate than human evaluators and provides objective evaluation of polygraph charts. In 1997, Dr. Olsen recognized a critical need for human simulations and created training simulation for teaching interview techniques to FBI and other law enforcement agencies. The technology evolved into the PeopleSim® used by SIMmersion. He has numerous publications and years of experience as both a researcher and a manager. He also taught statistics for the Johns Hopkins University for 28 years. Show less
