      My responsibilities include teaching courses in both our on-ground and online programs as well as being involved in scholarly research activities while serving the college in a number of ways. I teach a variety of courses in the criminal justice program including: SO202 Introduction to Criminal Justice; SO204 Methods of Social Research (for Criminal Justice Majors); SO205 Statistical Analysis; SO307 Criminology; SO333 Victimology; SO343 Introduction to Corrections and SO400 Critical Issues in Criminal Justice. I am fortunate to be engaged in a variety of course development opportunities (SO202 Introduction to Criminal Justice; SO333 Victimology; SO343 Corrections, SO405 Law and Society and SO 400 Critical Issues in Criminal Justice) in our Online General Studies program as well. A key focus for my teaching involves experiential learning experiences for students through a variety of community based / service learning projects. My scholarly research pursuits have focused on the reentry process for people returning home after being incarcerated. I have also examined the history of criminal justice in a number of contexts. I advise our 40+ criminal justice majors, providing sound and careful advice on academic and professional pursuits. Student development and student success are my focal points. Furthermore, Included within my service to the criminal justice program is course and curriculum development. My service to the college currently involves the development of an Advising Handbook for Faculty.
