In the Daisy mentoring program, I have learned practical management skills that help me plan and manage my long-term career development in the construction industry. Daisy has provided me valuable insight into how social networking works in the Australian construction industry; this gave me good guidance, especially as an international student. With the suggestion and help from Daisy, I have received interview offers from multiple construction companies, and this would not happen if I had not signed up for the program. As an international student, I was unaware of the difference and difficulties of job searching compared to locals students. Daisy, who was also an international student, can understand the social networking difficulties and cultural differences in career development. She has highlighted these difficulties and provided practical suggestions and solutions based on each student's scenario. I would recommend the program to all my international friends, especially to friends who are experiencing difficulties in local job searching and social networking. I also recommended the program to all the new graduate and undergraduate students because the program provides practical knowledge of career development, which is critical to early career planning.

I was a mentee of Daisy through the UMSU Mentoring Program. As a mentor, Daisy served as an example of excellence in all aspects of university and truly embodied the aspect of all-rounded achievement. She is an exceptional ambassador for future leaders in the construction space.
