Shape-Up gives participants the skills and confidence to take control of their weight for life, abandoning yo-yo dieting for good. The programme helps people achieve healthy, long-term weight-loss by offering vital information on changing behaviour such as how to keep motivated, how to identify things which lead to unhealthy habits and dealing with set-backs, as well as practical information on portion sizes, food labelling, cooking, shopping and eating out tips. This was an excellent first job after graduating, which provided the opportunity to apply and consolidate my knowledge of nutrition, and gave me confidence advising members of public, writing and presenting. I was also able to further expand my knowledge via involvement in research and attendance of regular conferences.
