A professional music studio based in Washington, D.C. iGenius Studios offers private and group lessons in violin and viola. The organization is dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders. It’s more than just teaching kids to play the violin. Its about giving kids a talent they can be proud of. Teaching them to endure challenges and master a craft. Giving them an opportunity to express themselves. Showing them how music has contributed to history and social advancement. Making them more culturally aware. Show less

District Leadership Program
-
Oct 2016 - Aug 2018
The District Leadership Program (DLP) is a fellowship program administered by the District of Columbia Government’s Department of Human Resources (DCHR). The District Leadership Program selects 30 individuals each year from across the DMV local area to engage in substantive assignments in an unlimited array of functional areas related to government operations (i.e., Human Capital Management, Finance and Budgeting, Information Technology, Small and Local Business and Economic Development, Legislative Affairs, Health, and Education). During my time as a District Leadership Program fellow, I work directly with the Office of Planning to develop strategies that would incentivize equitable growth and sustainable development in the District's underserved communities. ●Analyze policy recommendations to the FEED-DC Act while also participating in food policy research strategies to increase the access to healthy food in underserved neighborhoods in the District. ● Assist in the development of Washington DC's first Cultural Plan, a proposal intended to strengthen arts and humanities while also increasing culture participation and supporting local artist and talent in order to lead in innovation and technology, create new jobs, and spark economic growth and development. ●Mobilize community events and initiatives to transform underserved neighborhoods into creative places that represent and serve the people who live in them in order improve the relationship between culture, citizenship, and institutions at the local level. Encouraging sustainable development without displacement. Show less
