The work was done in the framework of obtaining my state engineer’s degree in automation & control. It consisted of a study of a Matrix Lie groups based approach for solving the SLAM problem, and it allowed me to get familiar with SLAM, as well as the main concepts of Lie theory that are used in robotics. We also proposed a solution to make the nonlinear observer more robust in the presence of landmarks uncertainties, by adding a fault detection and isolation block to the algorithm that derives the observer that solves the SLAM problem. A three months intensive program of artificial intelligence organized by samsung and gomycode, where I have acquired a solid foundation in machine learning and deep learning. the training included : _ Solid foundation in python : from variables, functions to complex data structures and OOP _ Data preprocessing : included data cleaning, feature selection and data transformation using numpy and pandas. _ Data visualization : choosing the appropriate plots for different types of data for visualization and analysis using matplotlib and seaborn. _ Probability and statistics for data science. _ Machine learning : supervised learning vs unsupervised learning, algorithms for regression, classification, clustering and association rules. _ Deep learning : artificial neural networks, deep neural networks, convolutional neural networks, transfer learning and natural laguage processing. Small contribution to the implementation of a smart wheelchair used in an indoor environment. The work included : _ Calibration and data retrieval from the GP2Y0A21YK0F - SHARP infrared sensor. _Configuration and data retrieval from the SRF08 ultrasonic sensor via I2C communication. _Data transfer between microcontrollers using SPI bus. _Voice recognition using the MOVI shield. _Control of BLDC motors. _All the code was written in C++ and most of it was object oriented.
