The education station is a learning center for art & design at the WdKA. We offer a variety of training programs for teachers and students. We research and develop online learning tools, and we research how to implement 'inclusive pedagogy' in our institute. This station is where we create, shape, and try to keep the WdKA's learning community up-to-date.

Students of the Illustration department at the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA) learn to work and study together as a community. Within this community, the department actively encourages the broad range of learning opportunities made possible by contributions from individuals of various backgrounds and various approaches to illustration. We aim to avoid constraining students within specific branches of illustration. We believe that by embracing diversity, we are in a position to create a flexible environment in which students can discover their own direction. The focus within the department is on three specific areas of the profession: narrative, informative, and authorial illustration. We want students to be able to share stories, provide information and express opinions through visual works. We focus on products such as publications, animations, installations, events, identities and games. Show less
