  Children by Choice is an independent Brisbane-based non-profit organisation, committed to providing unbiased information on all unplanned pregnancy options – abortion, adoption and parenting. We have a pro-choice and woman-centred approach.We provide non-judgemental all options counselling, information and referrals for Queensland women experiencing unplanned pregnancy, and post-abortion counselling, through our Queensland-wide phoneline and in person at our Brisbane office. We also provide sexuality education to young people and professional development training for health and community sector professionals. We work to advance Queensland women's reproductive choices, and to improve access to safe and legal abortion.We are a state-wide service and operate Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. We are funded by the Queensland Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services to provide our counselling and community education services. We rely heavily on our members, supporters, and volunteers to assist us in our non-funded work, and are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission.

  Support to the Retail Operations team and Executive Officers within the 8 Diocese (regions) across Queensland, consisting of 145 Vinnies shops, 11 warehouses, 137 staff and over 6’500 volunteer team members. Sales revenue in excess of $31million with a gross margin of 34%. Sales growth of 17.5% on last years figures and 41% on surplus results have been achieved while I was in the role of State Centres Support Manager.Implementation of the State Society Strategic Plan for sustainability in funding, as the core revenue source is the retail operations. To ensure the Society’s mission of providing people in need with a hand up, rather than a hand out and ensuring vulnerable Queenslanders have support and assistance.Key tasks involved the development of resources and procedures to be implemented state-wide to a variety of stakeholders. Working with those stakeholders to ensure compliance and commitment to the code of conduct and policy and procedures for retail operations.Growth of shops across Queensland with an aim to have 200 Vinnies by 2022. Ensuring risk management is in place to support growth and ensure availability of volunteers and donations for this growth. Surplus growth of 4% over budget reaching $1million in surplus for the first time in the Western Brisbane Diocese. Recruitment of a full Multi Centre Management team, raising the leadership and professionalism of the operations through implementation of structure and clear expectations of role.Successful store openings of Ipswich, Boonah and Esk with refurbishments scheduled and budgeted for Grovely and Sumner Park, as well as new properties in Milton and Springfield.Developed a retail strategic plan for the Western Brisbane Diocese in line with the state strategic plan, presented at Diocesan and Regional Councils.

Funded under the Energy Efficiency Information Grants through the Department of Industry.Retail Buys the Future’s primary project objective is to educate and inform the retail sector on all aspects of achieving energy efficiency in the retail industry. Information resources and project activities will include:• Development of a retail specific, credible sustainability web portal;• Release of an online diagnostic tool that will calculate individual store energy efficiency;• Creation of case studies of best practice examples provided by market leaders;• Delivery of energy efficiency implementation workshops to retailers free of charge nationally;• Along with many additional resources such as sector specific fact sheets and operational guides.This project and resources are designed for the entire retail and personal services sector and will cover information relevant to all sectors including retail, fast food, pharmacy, funeral services, hair and beauty, floristry, newsagents and hardware with a particular focus on SMEs.Standards Australia Committee Member for environmental labeling.Australian Energy Regulator - Customer Consultative Committee member.
