My role is varied and requires technical, problem solving and time management skills. My key duties involve: • Manage each project and design the vehicle’s structure, weights, subframe and chassis position to accommodate the required capacities while keeping within standards and legislations. • New product innovation and development, initial manufacture and integration of mechanical systems using FEA. • Improving and Standardising designs, processes, and systems • Understanding the technical requirements of projects including timescales and cost. • Support customer and supplier visits to understand project requirements and ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction. • Produce/modify Drawings using Solidworks, incorporating Value Engineering and Design for Manufacture principles. • Specify and select parts and equipment to meet design requirements and liaise with the Procurement and Logistics Department. • Working alongside hydraulics and electrical teams to create the different circuits and drawings such as vacuum, pneumatic and jetting. • Creating necessary tank or components drawings, while liaising with workshop to ensure a successful and smooth build of the project. • Creating bills of materials, provide reports and documentation as required. • Product development, innovation, and FEA in line with evolving legislations and standards.
