  My project for the summer was working on an NSF funded project called the Food Information Network (FINs), an effort to bring data visualization, recommender technology, and shared delivery to increase nutritional eating in food deserts. My role was to provide information toward platform development and examine the potential for sustainability of the model after the duration of the grant. Tasks included research on the psychology of preference to inform the development of the Food Information Network app, identifying challenges and solutions to food access, and garnering input from professors, mentors, and community members.
