      Cyril Prinsloo has been a consultant with Imani Development for past 3 years, focussing on trade, trade facilitation and regional integration projects across Southern and Eastern Africa. Previous consulting assignments have included providing technical assistance and capacity building support to enhance the trade negotiations capacity of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Malawi (DFID Trade Advocacy Fund); undertaking research and stakeholder consultations in Botswana to establish the role of services as an enabler in establishing regional and global value chains (World Bank), as well as research on transport and logistics value chains in Botswana (World Bank). For the SADC Secretariat he undertook a study on the impact the SADC Trade Protocol has had on intra-regional trade and he advised the SACU Secretariat on the various Rules of Origin options they have for trading in textiles and clothing with SADC, and the employment, poverty and trade effects this will have within member states of SACU. He participated in a study establishing the various technical constraints Botswana companies face in trading with the United States and how to best address those within the Trade, Investment and Development Cooperation Agreement (TIDCA) signed between SACU and the US.
