Cynthia will be integrating nutrition knowledge in the clinical treatment and recovery process of eating disorders in inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization environments. Intern will be working alongside other dietitians, mental health counselors, doctors, psychiatrists, and therapists, learning the critical role each person in the interdisciplinary team plays, and how to set up a coordinated care plant that is appropriate for each patient. As part of my Community Nutrition rotation, I was able to help present a 4 week education curriculum to clients at the MASS clinic that were either recently diagnosed with diabetes or hypertension, and were pre-diabetic and diabetic. Presentation topics included Basic Nutrition Principles, MyPlate, the role of carbohydrates and insulin, heart healthy principles, and setting health goals. Food Recovery and Delivery

Intern worked with UNF Faculty and staff recovering food from hospitals such as Mayo Clinic, Baptist Health, and Brooks Rehab, and repurposing otherwise discarded food items into meals for homebound seniors that are on the waitlist for Meals on Wheels.
