I provide hotline and in office services to survivors of rape/sexual assault, accompany survivor to hospital, court or police if requested by client or SANE staff, conduct intakes, assessments, develop safety plans and provides case management for clients. I specifically work with ages 12 through 24, but am very capable working with all ages above 12. The crisis intervention that I provide as a counselor is to support those who are in a state of acute crisis as a result of sexual assault/domestic violence often by helping the client to navigate through the intense feelings being experienced, providing an anchor in reality, support and coping mechanisms and assisting the client to pass through the current crisis stage. Along with these duties, I also conduct outreach and educational activities to middle and high school and colleges. I also provide professional workshops to the medical community on working with survivors/victims. In additional to my tasks, I also supported the DPH work plan and completed quarterly tracking information for the demographic of clients that I worked with. Show less
