Hired as a Teacher in Residence to circulate and fill in whenever a lead teacher was absent, within a month of the start of school, I was asked to take over a 2nd grade classroom of 29 students for the remainder of the school year. Within a matter of weeks, I learned curriculum and a new system within this new school. I also served as a mentor to two new teachers required by NC DPI to participate in the Beginning Teacher program. These roles challenged me and grew me as an educator and problem-solver. Show less

I worked with stakeholders in administration, parents, community sponsors, and athletic / student supporters of the sport. Toward the end of my time at WFHS, I worked closely with county administration in a $40k project of resurfacing tennis playing area at Wake Forest High School.
