  I am a Utilization Review Coordinator and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including having my own solo private practice (both in home and office settings) and working in a residential treatment center as both a therapist and case manager. For the past 5 years I’ve been a Utilization Review Coordinator for a residential treatment center for adolescents. I conduct pre certifications, concurrent reviews and schedule peer reviews for a variety of managed care companies for patients at the residential level of care. I work directly with the treatment team and act as the liaison between the treatment team and the insurance company to demonstrate medical necessity for continued stay.I have established strong relationships with both the treatment team and the care advocates from the managed care companies.
