    • Nonprofit organization
      • Sep 2013 - Dec 2013

Donate Don’t Dump is a Non-Profit Organization that helps end commercial food waste and alleviate hunger. Its mission is to encourage grocery stores, growers, and food companies to donate their surplus food, not dump it. This organization helps feed hungry families and students by providing 20 pounds of fruits and vegetables, and helps the environment by reducing the amount of food being thrown away to rot in the landfills. As an intern, I was responsible for assisting with six bi-weekly food distributions throughout the semester. Not only did I help distribute food, I also answered questions about the organization and provided additional information pertaining to other distributions throughout North County, I handed out flyers on campus to promote the and encourage students to come the distributions and receive free food. I empowered and recruited additional volunteers from my pre health society. Show less
