International Clinical Training Experience

In 2017, I had the opportunity to visit and participate in an International TCM Training Program at Chengdu University of TCM in Chengdu, Sichuan, People’s Republic of China. Training Program Highlights: - 44 hours of hospital observation rounds in pain management, oncology, herbal therapy, pediatrics & acupuncture. -Professional-Level Lectures in pediatric and adult Tuina. -Cultural Sightseeing Tours in Beijing (Great Wall,Forbidden City) and hiked sacred mountains (Emeishan and Qingcheng) where I got to see Chinese herbs growing in the mountains. Completed over 200+ hours at Palomar Medical Center during my undergraduate career. I had the opportunity to gain experience in three different departments within three month rotations, including Medical Acute Care, Orthopedic Care, and Observation and Short Stay department. I performed vital signs alongside medical professionals, monitored patient wellbeing, provided basic care to patients such as bathing, feeding, and dressing. And promoted activity and mobility by assisting with moving and positioning clients in bed, minimizing orthostatic hypotension, transferring from bed to chair and assisting in ambulation. Show less

Nonprofit organization

Donate Don’t Dump is a Non-Profit Organization that helps end commercial food waste and alleviate hunger. Its mission is to encourage grocery stores, growers, and food companies to donate their surplus food, not dump it. This organization helps feed hungry families and students by providing 20 pounds of fruits and vegetables, and helps the environment by reducing the amount of food being thrown away to rot in the landfills. As an intern, I was responsible for assisting with six bi-weekly food distributions throughout the semester. Not only did I help distribute food, I also answered questions about the organization and provided additional information pertaining to other distributions throughout North County, I handed out flyers on campus to promote the and encourage students to come the distributions and receive free food. Election Officer

Some of the core duties included: Setting up the polling place the day prior to the election, opening and closing the polling place, greeting and processing voters, instructing voters to correctly mark ballots and on the use of the electronic Accessible Voting Unit, and accounting for all ballots and election materials to the Registrar of Voters' office immediately after the polls close at both the Primary Election and Presidental Election.
