Cyndee is friendly and approachable. She works hard but creatively and collaboratively.

I have had the privilege of working with Cyndee at both Thomas House as well as her previous role with Hands Together. As an outside consultant I had the opportunity to see how effectively she interacts with her staff and program participants. Working in the non profit industry it is uncommon to see someone who is able to integrate both the needed heart and head aspects of the business as well as Cyndee. She is shrewd and savvy but also kind and compassionate. An excellent leader and an asset to any organization she works with.

Charter Hospitals were acquired by Aurora Behavioral Health Care after my resignation. I worked as an intake coordinator providing assessments to potential patients. Charter Oak Hospital is a 95-bed facility providing treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency problems. A full continuum of care is offered with a rapid stabilization emphasis for all programming. It is the mission of Aurora Charter Oak Hospital to serve as a community resource bringing high quality mental health, affordable behavioral and addictive medical treatment to individuals in need. I specialized in the intake assessments of children, adolescents, and individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. This was a second job, taken to save a down payment for my first home. I worked at one of the hospitals as a per diem staff three to four nights per week, predominately taking calls on the "Hotline, " I once spent over three hours on the phone with a suicidal adult male while Los Angeles Police Department determined the callers address. Once law enforcement arrived an officer took the phone and commended me on my skills as the caller had removed the ammunition clip from the gun and was willing to admit himself for treatment. Mental After Care Association (MACA) was a non-profit organization which provided residential treatment for clients who previously had been an inpatient in a psychiatric facility. This large residential home was funded through the National Health plan in the United Kingdom. In a short period of time, I created the organization's first spreadsheet and tracking system to account for payments and disbursements. With this accounting system, coupled with my tenacity, I was collected over $400,000 in arrears owed to MACA from the National Health plan, making my manager and the CEO very happy! Show less
