I worked with Cynara when managing a BBC World Service digital innovation project in Kenya. Cynara was recommended to us many times by members across the BBC World Service and was brought on to act as local lead on areas such as Audience insights, events production, project management and general consulting. Areas of focus broadened as it quickly became evident just how much value and experience Cynara brought to the team. Cynara takes huge pride in doing a good job and fitting in seamlessly with the dynamic of a team (a virtual team at that). She's incredibly analytical, results focused, personable, and flexible when fitting around shifting timeframes. its not a cliche when I say it's been a pleasure to work with Cynara. She's fun to work with and I very much trust her judgement. I hope to have the opportunity to work together again in the future.

With this role I was responsible for developing GGTN Africa's (formerly CCTV Africa) Digital Media strategy and setting up the Digital Media Department. I also built partnerships with third party mobile platforms (such as Buni TV and Cinemo for MXIT) in order to distribute CCTV Africa content to new audiences. Part of the Mobile Team in the New Media Department of Al Jazeera's headquarters, Doha, Qatar. I researched, implemented and led mobile-related projects. These projects tended to fall into one of three categories; 1) Delivering Al Jazeera's programming to audiences via their mobiles 2) Mobile Tools for Al Jazeera journalists 3)Delivering unheard voices and stories via mobiles to Al Jazeera news teams.
