As a summer intern for Shiman & Carlson, P.C., I complete document automation for the attorneys. My automation responsibilities can range from documents with one page to thirty plus. I also shadow attorneys on work-related matters and client interactions. With this position I have increased my Microsoft Word, attentiveness, patience, and proper work-place conduct skills. • Campus Mobilizer
      • Jan 2023 - May 2023

As a campus mobilizer for the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition (GYJC), I educate and empower my fellow Spelman sisters & AUC siblings with legislative advocacy opportunities, scholarships, networking opportunities, and more. On a weekly basis, I conduct outreach on Spelman’s campus to engage students with GYJC material. We provide students with resources to expand their knowledge on the political action they can take to become involved with legislature which impacts their lives. GYJC is a youth based organization so my primary objective is to recruit students to join our movement or other youth empowerment groups to combat harmful legislature to Georgia’s youth. Show less

    • Team Lead
      • Sep 2022 - Dec 2022

As a fellow, I advocated for free college for all and youth voter engagement by engaging in fruitful discussions with peers and recruiting canvassers to spread Rise's values. I was promoted to the Team Lead position during the 2022 Georgia runoff election. I lead a team of around 5 fellows for Rise. As a team lead I ensure fellows are conducting productive work for their duties while also assisting in their projects. I host and attend weekly meetings with my fellows and other team members. I engage in dorm storming to engage students with legislature and advocacy opportunities, lobbying days at the State Capitol, and more. Show less

    • Humanities Collaboratory Visiting Student Researcher
      • May 2022 - Aug 2022

I created my own research project this summer in a collaboratory space. I produced ten-minute presentation displaying my research advocating for Black Male Childhood Sexual Abuse victims and the importance of their experience. My project specifically emphasized the positive impact parent- child communication can have on sexually abused children. With this project I hope to spread awareness of Black male CSA victims experience and encourage victims to voice their experience, aftereffects, and seek help to heal their trauma. Show less
