Head of BPS
-
Oct 2015 - Aug 2020
For 5 years I managed a team of 20 individuals to ensure the key deliverables for the BPS department were met. This led the company (who have been established since 1972, turnover of £186 million and 394 employees) to achieving its best SHE records in its history in 2017 and second best in 2020. I also had significant involvement in successfully defending the business, in 2018, through the Crown Courts.

I joined the Corps of Royal Engineers in 1996, where I worked as a Plant Operator/Mechanic which involved Construction Plant Operating/Maintenance, Construction Plant Supervision/Plant Management. I have also been heavily involved in Project Management, Site Management, Site Supervision, Drainage Design/Construction and Concreting. the different roles within this were: Jun 2007- Feb 2009 SITE MANAGER (Sergeant, British Army, Royal Engineers). I was posted to an Air Damage Repair Regiment within the Royal Engineers at Waterbeach, Cambs. I was a Plant Sgt within a busy Air Support Squadron in charge of a troop of 45 personnel. We were deployed at short notice to anywhere in the world to cover any construction that needed to be carried out. Operation Manager (Sergeant, British Army, Royal Engineers) While on operations in Iraq I was in charge of allocating and running up to 7 construction tasks at a time. Construction at that time was the main focus. All tasks were bided for by the clients i.e. RAF, Navy and Army. Each task I had to prioritise for, depending on the details given. All tasks were given a budget which had to be strictly adhered to. Each task was surveyed and a letter report produced, from that it was then issued to the construction teams. Sep 2005-Jun 2007 INSTRUCTOR (Corporal, British Army, Royal Engineers) I was employed at an Army Training Regiment (ATR) for this period of my career. Nov 2001-Sep 2005 OCCUPATIONAL WORKS SUPERVISOR (British Army, Royal Engineers) Jan 1996 – Nov 2001 PLANT OPERATOR MECHANIC (British Army, Royal Engineers) Show less
