Responsible for day to day operation of the instructional physics labs. This includes repairing physics lab equipment, development of new lab experiments, budgets and schedules. But most importantly mentoring lab teaching assistants and assisting students in the physics labs. Served as State chair for Kansas Science Olympiad in 1995. Science Olympiad event coordinator (circuits, mission possible, cow-a-bungee, bottle rockets, etc.) at the State level from 1990 to 2009. Started the Wichita Area Physics Alliance with the local high school Physics and Physical Science Teachers. Received letter of commendation from the university president on this activity. Developed a series of Take Home Physics Labs for the physics for non-science major classes, and the class to go with the lab. Co-taught upper division Physics Labs dealing with microprocessor interfacing and real time data acquisition and control. Reverse engineered and then upgraded the telescope control system at Lake Afton Public Observatory. Show less
