As President and CEO of Curtis Moring Insurance Agency, Inc. (CMI) Curtis has taken the company, his father founded, into the new age automation and risk management team. Curtis is a past Board Member of: the Independent Brokers Association of California, San Diego Chapter, as well as the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan for the State of California and he served for 2 1/2 years in an advisory capacity to the Commissioner of Insurance. Curtis has worked on owner controlled insurance projects in San Diego County on behalf of the City of San Diego and Metropolitan Wastewater Department, along with the San Diego Convention Center Expansion Project, providing technical assistance for safety training and project management with daily responsibility for contractor enrollment, claims, and monthly progress reports during the life of the projects. Curtis is one of a handful of agents in the Western U.S. Region who has experience in billion dollar construction insurance projects in the areas of Clean Water, Dams and bridges with bidding capacity up to $14.Billion. Curtis was one of the first insurance brokers to develop a digital brochure for the internet in 1996, which lead to him being one of the panel speakers at the National Conference of Insurance Legislators in 1997. He has been a long time contributor to charitable organizations like: Head Start Programs, United for Reading Program, Civic Youth Orchestra and the San Diego Food Bank. Curtis is a past Board Member of the Jackie Robinson YMCA and the San Diego State University Advisory Board to the former President, Dr. Weber. Curtis has taught risk management to a number of companies, organizations, in different industries and risk management courses to students of hydroponic farming schools. With the growing industry in Aerospace for Drones, Curtis is providing insurance products to assist companies using Drones for there businesses.
