This includes preparation of the department's 20+ million dollar budget, oversight of CALEA Accreditation, Records Unit, Professional Standards Unit(Internal Affairs), Training Functions, Property and Evidence, Procurement, Public Information, Community Interaction, Communications Unit, Detention Operations, Facility Maintenance and Technology, Access Control and physical security of police facilities.

Division Commander - Criminal Investigations

Manager of the investigative functions of the department. Responsible for oversight of Criminal Investigations, Special Investigations, Juvenile Investigations, School Resource Officers, DARE Program, Criminal Intelligence and Crime Analysis.

Division Commander - Operations

Managed Operations functions of the department. Responsible for oversight of the Patrol Division, Traffic Division, K-9 Unit, SWAT, Detention Facility and several part time specialized units such as bicycle, motorcycle, honor guard, etc.

Shift Commander

Mid level manager responsible for various patrol shifts comprised of three Sergeants and fifteen officers. Responsible for planning, supervising and reviewing activities for all personnel. Duties included directing or personally investigating citizen complaints about police personnel conduct and services; organizing and directing personnel and equipment at major events; interaction with community organizations; representing the police department at various boards and committees and establish strategy for crime reduction.

Sergeant/Unit Supervisor

Provided direct supervision for police officers providing guidance and direction. Scheduled and deployed work force to meet community needs. Reviewed reports for accuracy and completeness. Review strategy and work performance. Served in this capacity in both the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division and Juvenile Section. During which time I served as a liaison with several organizations, boards and commissions.

Detective

Investigate various criminal acts. Interview suspects, victims and witnesses. Process crime scenes collecting and securing evidence. Keep detailed records used to prepare police reports and file cases with the Prosecutor’s Office.

Performed all uniformed patrol activities. Included various crimes, conflict resolution and assistance to the community as needed.
