As a Geophysical Specialist for EMC, my team and I often travelled throughout the country to perform geophysical services for the client. We use an array of instruments such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Electromagnets, Gravity Meters, Trimble RTK stations, and many more. Our deliverables include in-depth maps and reports for a better understanding of the subsurface terrain. I performed quality assurance on geospatial data from various vendors for Apple Inc. in the GIS department. My work allowed me to review shapefiles created from external sources and check for flaws and dependence on particular specifications set by Apple. I use ESRI products, AutoDesk products, and other basic GIS software to perform my duties. This position helps me understand large scale projects on a corporate level, including the necessary communication with my superiors. I worked as an intern for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department in New Braunfels. I worked with certain programs that manage spatially analyzed data used for various purposes, specifically ESRI’s Arcmap. Most processes I have handled during my employment are Parcel/Plat editing, Digitization, Map Creation, Data Creation/Organization, and Web Applications through ArcGIS Online.
