South Korea Development of SiO2-coated green and red perovskite–metal oxide core-shell quantum dots (QDs) with ultrathin shell as an emissive layer for LED application • Synthesized chemically stable ultrathin SiO2-coated green and red perovskite–metal oxide core–shell quantum dots (QDs) using the modified hot injection method, which were first successfully applied in the fabrication of perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). • Efficiently controlled the shell thickness of core-shell perovskites… Show more Development of SiO2-coated green and red perovskite–metal oxide core-shell quantum dots (QDs) with ultrathin shell as an emissive layer for LED application • Synthesized chemically stable ultrathin SiO2-coated green and red perovskite–metal oxide core–shell quantum dots (QDs) using the modified hot injection method, which were first successfully applied in the fabrication of perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). • Efficiently controlled the shell thickness of core-shell perovskites, resulting in a significant enhancement of the environmental and chemical stability. • Obtained perovkites@SiO2 core–shell with an ultrathin shell (<1.5 nm), ensuring sufficiently thin to exhibit effective carrier injection behavior. • Analyzed the chemical structure of SiO2-coated green and red perovskites via FT-IR, NMR, HR-TEM, and XPS. • Optimized the shell thickness using various ratios APTES/OAm, HR-TEM. • Obtained this green perovskite–metal oxide core–shell QDs-based PeLEDs with a luminance of ∼3200 cd·m−2 owing to the ultrathin shell. Development of SiO2-coated core–shell green perovskite quantum dots (QDs) with new types of shell, with excellent water stability for bio-imaging application • Applied the modified hot injection method to synthesize water-stable core-shell green perovskites coated with a novel type of SiO2 shell for efficient bio-imaging applications. • Optimized the ratios between types of shells to control the water stability of materials.
