  As the Office Manager, I was responsible for daily office functions including budgeting, checkbook balancing, visitor inquires, web data analysis, tourist information fulfillment, and much more. Because this was only a two-person office, I was also responsible for much more beyond my job title, including marketing, advertising, promotions, media trips, tour groups, graphic design, press releases, attending board meetings, community planning meetings, and more. I worked with tour groups and travel writers to schedule visits and coordinate itineraries for their trips to Spencer County. Attending travel and trade shows to recruit additional visitors by telling them of our area attractions was a favorite part of my job. Graphic design was a regular part of my duties to ensure that our social media as well as all outgoing print materials had a similar brand and message presence. I also maintained the website and mobile app, which also consisted of writing copy, sizing photos, creating graphics, testing, reading analytics, and reviewing where tweaks were needed. Show less

  The Santa Claus Museum's mission is to preserve, interpret, and exhibit the cultural and natural history of the town of Santa Claus, IN and to perpetuate the tradition of Santa’s Elves, Inc answering letters to Santa. My impact for the Museum was writing 3 successfully awarded grants, the first grants that were ever awarded to the Museum and created an Oral History Program that interviewed key people within the communities about the history of the town and their recollection of memories. I also created displays, promoted and marketed the Museum, orchestrated Santa's Elves to answer thousands of letters to Santa, established a budget, sought donations and funds, among many other tasks.
