Science Support Coordinator & Professional Tutor, Center for Academic Enrichment
-
Aug 2010 - Jun 2017
The Center for Academic Enrichment (CAE) is an integral part of the UNH Manchester learning community, which includes a culturally and demographically diverse student body. We work closely with faculty and staff to provide all students with support through workshops, study groups and individual tutoring. Our tutor program is certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) and provides robust training for peer tutors through a Tutor Development course and ongoing mentoring. I am responsible for identifying, training and mentoring new tutors, and working with science program faculty to assess, coordinate and provide both professional and peer tutor support for science content and writing, as well as academic and literacy skills.Institutional service to the Student Leadership Academy and other student focused initiatives reflects my interest in providing students with a holistic education that draws from engaging, relevant, and reflective experiences.
