I am currently responsible for the project engineering deliverables, design co-ordination and technical aspects for Ballast Track Renewal (BTR) projects at various stages of the project lifecycle. The projects have a range of challenges from delivering track renewals in subsurface areas with multiple constraints; working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for London Underground and ensuring that quality is not compromised. My main responsibility is to ensure that the design process and engineering outputs are compliant to the relevant standards specific to the works. This is achieved via defining scopes; undertaking reviews to ensure deliverables are compliant to relevant standards and the works are delivered in line with London Undergrounds assurance process. Ultimately the completed works must be fit for purpose, reflect the design and evidence must be available for each element of the works for Handover. Show less

I managed various Civils Projects for London Underground through the entire ‘Life Cycle’ from inception through to handover. The projects life cycle is governed by undertaking Gates at various stages of the project. Within London Underground this is achieved through the Pathway (PPMP) process, previously Project Management Framework (PMF). At each stage there will be a review held with the project sponsor to enable the project to progress to the next stage. The success of project progress will be based on meeting certain criteria set out with the sponsor during the projects early stages of the project. It is my role to manage this process effectively through to completion. The projects I have managed range in value from £100k to £3 million over various disciplines. Typical projects range from upgrading or replacing a variety of London Underground Civils Assets. This has involved cast iron strengthening with carbon fibre plates, waterproofing works to protect existing structures from water egress, spiral staircase strengthening works by installation of additional beams, bridge strike prevention and vehicle incursion works by installing barriers and height restriction structures, bridge replacement works and bridge painting. I liaise and manage various stakeholders, members of the project team and external contractors to ensure the various project milestones are delivered on time and within budget. Show less
