Bio
Elizabeth Louise H.
I worked with Craig for 4-plus years at Grocery Headquarters. When I joined the team, Craig proved to be a wealth of information and assistance in helping me learn the industry and improve my writing skills. I could always count on him for supportive feedback and criticism in all areas of the business - from my writing techniques to story angles to new ideas for enhancing the magazine's editorial and brand. As a managing editor, Craig is extremely efficient in managing a very intense and fast-paced workflow. He thrives under pressure and deadlines and goes above and beyond to maintain a high standard, no matter what time constraints are placed on him. One of Craig's biggest assets is his creativity - his headlines and leads are always clever.

Managing Editor - Grocery Headquarters
-
Jan 2013 - Jun 2017
I still write and fulfill the duties I did as senior editor, but when I took over as managing editor of Grocery Headquarters it was an opportunity to do a lot more. From helping develop the editorial calendar to managing staff to editing articles to trafficking pages through the editorial process, I have a hand in just about every stage of production for the magazine. In addition to ensuring that the monthly print issue and the multiple supplements we publish get out on time, I am responsible for the posting of daily news and the weekly e-newsletter. Senior Editor - Grocery Headquarters
-
Jan 2008 - Dec 2012
Back to Macfadden. I was ready for a full-time job and fortunately I had kept in touch with my old boss. The was an opening for an editor at Grocery Headquarters, and while I didn't have that much experience with the food industry, it became a great fit. As senior editor I covered every area imaginable in the grocery store. That included writing cover stories, feature articles, short news items and blogs covering the grocery industry. I also traveled to various trade shows, interacting with top level executives in an effort to build client relationships. Show less

I loved the freedom freelancing provided, but the lack of a steady paycheck was a little disconcerting. It also exposed me to areas of business I had never done before, such as copy writing and copy editing. Wideband was a B2B consumer electronics magazine. I was looking forward to working there, then a month or so in they called us into a room and told us the magazine was folding, effective immediately.
