Goals include restoration and maintenance of 180,000 acres of upland longleaf pine forest, with associated flora and fauna that include pitcher plants, red-cockaded woodpeckers, and gopher tortoises. Coordinate and supervise invasive species control program staff. Collect and plant native grass seeds for groundcover restoration. Monitor silviculture and wildlife BMP's. Plan projects to reduce erosion and sedimentation. Seek and manage grants to facilitate the state's mission. Conduct prescribed burns. Edited ten-year resource management plan and ushered it through public comment process.
