QA Tester
-
Jul 2018 - Oct 2018
Working within a small team of testers and testing various elements of developments for financial products (share registry based). My experience largely revolved around the online hub/portal where clients are able to drop files relating to trades, transfers and the like and have them ingested for reporting purposes with the relevant regulatory body, plus view reports and statistics of the information presented. Other smaller pieces of work were also undertaken, such as tracking files through the FTP software & checking database changes to ensure confidence in the products. Responsibilities • Using exploratory techniques in order to test the portal to look for bugs and other less obvious issues. • Creating regression test steps for the portal software. • Conducting basic queries in SQL in order to track changes to the database in terms of the information ingested • Testing movements of the files using RDP sessions, dummy accounts and test versions of the software Show less

Software Tester

Apr 2014 - Mar 2016
I was offered a role in testing due to my inherent ability to be able to hone in on a problem and find the cause of it in an efficient manner. I am often relentless in my search for the cause of problems. It is due to this and my organisational skills that in a fairly short amount of time, I was offered the opportunity to head up the team and co-ordinate their efforts. I am presently responsible for not only my own workload, but for the testing team as a whole. This is of course a challenge, but one that I relish.Responsibilities• Running test scripts on test databases for new software releases, recording all results issues tracked using issue logs, scripts and software change notices.• Assessing new developments to the software, planning the approach to the testing and writing of scripts to be used going forwards for the testing of said developments• Feeding back to other members of the testing function as well as the wider R&D Team as to findings and results, escalating issues where necessary.• Working with the Projects Team to create UAT specifications and detailed test plans.• Liaising with other departments (such as support) to share knowledge of issues raised on site and encountered in the office• Testing possibilities of Iken software integration with other software products. • Ad-hoc testing of the software as a whole and raising any issues found via the proper channels• Co-ordination of the testing team and their workload to ensure testing tasks are complete and within sprint goals Show less
