  As the field service engineer role of my job I am to attend site install service and commission Yizumi injection moulding machines. Once they are installed I then have to train the customer in the use and functions of the machine. In the in-house service engineer role of my job my responsibilities are to test and fault diagnosis of machines ready to be refurbished as well as mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on the refurbished machines. I am also responsible demonstrating the machines to prospective buyers and answering any of their questions.

  As the only maintenance engineer at the company it is my responsibility to perform all planned and preventative maintenance on all 14 injection-moulding machines and the 8 printing machines and all their ancillary equipment as well as the factory maintenance (e.g. chillers and compressors) I am also responsible for building maintenance witch varies from welding, painting to wall building. When I started at the company there was know form of planned or preventive maintenance in place and since I have been there I have implemented this. As I mentioned I am the only maintenance engineer their so I also have to run the maintenance department with ordering stock, prioritising work, chasing suppliers and creating all necessary risk assessment’s for work carried out. I am also in control of creating and writing up all there safe systems of work for the whole company.

  In the service roll I would regularly attend construction sites and install high voltage equipment. First, I would need to liaise with the site manager to discuss the project at hand, the time it will take and to make sure all necessary requirements and safety measures had been met for my attendance. Once on site I would communicate with and work alongside other contractors, reporting progression of the job back to the site manager at the end of every day. In my installations interface roll I was to create a training portfolio. This commencing of all jobs onsite and in the factory that were regularly carried out and a brief ‘how to’ on the job its self.

  Responsible for arranging site visits with customers, attending the site visit and dealing with the customer face to face. Before each site visit I would have to write up a risk assessment and method statement of the work that needed to be carried out and once the job was complete I would then write up a detailed site report of all the work that was done. I also had a lot to do with the set up and running of our refurbishment program witch was proven to be very successful and has now become its own department. I am also trained in H.V and L.V electrical testing. Whilst at Lucy switchgear I also got involved in the training program where I would where I would train the new engineers and customers including the customers from aboard anything from basic operations of the equipment to maintenance and repair of the equipment. This involved classroom work and practical work in the workshop.
