      BHP own and operate a fully integrated processing facility at the Olympic Dam site in South Australia. As a part of the Integrated Shutdown Management Team, I was responsible for the management of the team responsible to manage the demolition and rebuild contractors for the rebuild of the Electric Slag Furnace. With a project value of circa $80m, this project required considerable knowledge of the plant with a portion of the schedule executed whilst the plant remained live adjacent the rebuild.

      At the Olympic Dam mine site, I provided proactive management to the Smelter Campaign Maintenance project team through strong leadership to produce the required project deliverables throughout the life cycle of the project, whilst demonstrating safe work practices to the project team and other colleagues of BHP Olympic Dam. During the Definition Phase, I was required to manage and lead the project team responsible for delivering the cost estimate and schedule for the project with a value of $150m. The role also required me to manage two external consulting engineering firms who were engaged to provide multidisciplinary Engineering and Procurement services for the project. Major supply packages were also tendered during this phase, where I was required to initiate and manage the tenders, contract negotiations, contract implementation, schedule control throughout manufacture and QA/QC inspections at the overseas plant
