Grading Foreman
-
Mar 2021 - Present
As a grading foreman I am responsible for the successful completion of projects and tasks assigned to me through tactful management of assets and accurate on-site surveying. On a day-to-day basis this involves checking percent completion of tasks relative to project timelines, looking ahead for potential risks due to scheduling conflicts, and the management of assets and personnel. Additionally, this role involves performing and recording daily safety talks, logs, and JHA's as well as weekly safety talks and site inspections.Surveying is a key part of the job. While managing one job site, I am often required to travel between other job sites to quickly interpret plans, set up surveying equipment, and provide the layout plan features so that crews may begin working. This also lends itself to being available for questions from those sites as they arrive.Technical literacy is another key tenet of the role. On daily basis software used includes:-Topcon Pocket3D-HCSS Heavy Jobs-Sitedocs-Fieldwire-Procore-ExcelBeing a team player is equally important. As there are junior surveyors on our team I make myself available to troubleshoot equipment and provide guidance, contacts, and best practices as questions arise.
